elearning lesson 1 task 1: choice of graphs
- Among the 4 graphs (Line Graph, Bar Graphs, Pictograms, Pie Charts), identify ONE graph that is NOT an appropriate choice to represent the information?
- Pie Chart
- Why do you think it's not appropriate?
- The figures on the pie chart is rounded off so it is not accurate. If it is not accurate it is not appropriate.
- What makes you think the 3 remaining graphs are appropriate?
- The other 3 do not have figures that are rounded off so they are accurate and hence appropriate for showing the data.

Based on your observation, what is the profile of the commuters during on a typical Friday, between 11.00 am to 12.30 pm.
The commuters were mostly elderly or women.
What are the challenges you faced during the data collection period.
The buses came too fast and i had some difficulties noticing the commuters boarding the buses. It was also very hot and sunny. If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.
I would capture the data a time when the weather is comfortable. i would also look at the commuters boarding the buses and then fill in the table later.

Most of the people are working adults, old people and students.
What are the challenges you faced during the data collection period.
When doing the data collection i usually daze off and almost missed a few buses as i had nothing to do.If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.
I would bring my ipod to listen to music while taking down data so that i would not daze off so easily.

- If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.
- I could bring a mini fan and try to find a shady place to sit.

Ms Loh, I have sent you an email regarding my problem for filling the "expected time' and "waiting time" column.
Based on your observation, what is the profile of the commuters during on a typical Friday, between 11.00 am to 12.30 pm.
Most of them are working adults and students.
What are the challenges you faced during the data collection period.
During the periods of time the buses did not come, I did not have anything to do.
Sometimes, three buses wold come to the bus-stop at the same time, so I had to hurry to take down their numbers and details.
If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.
I would bring a book to spend the free time and I would be quicker at writing details and observing.

Based on my observation:Most of the people who boarded the bus were Teenagers, Secondary School Students and primary School students.
Problems:Halfway during the data collection period my leg was bleeding(Dunno what happened)and i had to ask some people for tissue. The wait was quite long.
If given a second chance to do the Data Collection I would: would bring something to occupy myself while waiting.

Jurong East St 13
28439
BLK 124
Time Started- 12.10p.m.
Time Ended- 13.40p.m.
The profile of the commuters are usually old, a few are middle aged and there are a few students.
The challenges I faced are that it is difficult to record down the buses and sometimes, the buses timing are way out so I have difficulties to match the actual timing to the timing on the internet.
If I was given a second chance to do it, I would use a stop watch with a lap time to record the timing.
